medicine for the healthy?

A lot of medicine  is disguised as science when in fact it's function is purely commercial. It advances only if it profits even if the cure is likely make believe. It hides through the obfuscation of statistics and higher math even the practitioner seldom understands. In fact it is good for them not to. They are often a moral people who would be troubled their advisement's and/or potions are impotent and maybe even portentous . They also have a prosperous hand in the game.  It also succors the patient into an illusion of competency as nothing is better to ease the mind than a confident player. The amusement is that the actors on all levels don't know or wish to know they are all in this absurdity. Everyone is benefiting on the ritual not the physical. Perhaps this an offshoot or side effect of such a system as a lot of medicine does clearly help.
